Hi there! I'm Evelyn, the founder and maker behind Evelyn’s Bags Boutique. I'd love to share the journey behind my collection – a path that began on the other side of the world and led me to the heart of artisan craftsmanship here in the United States.
A childhood full of inspiration
Born in Southeast Asia and raised in a family that cherished handwork, I became fascinated by textures, materials, and the art of making things by hand. At 16, I sold my first handmade leather bag at a local market, crafted from leftover leather scraps from my father’s tailoring studio.

Although my creative heart was strong, I decided to study economics in New York – a practical choice that taught me the business side of life. But I never stopped dreaming of creating with my hands. A trip to Florence, Italy – where the scent and spirit of leather craftsmanship fill the streets – rekindled my passion and brought me back to my roots.
I trained with master artisans, traveled across Europe, and immersed myself in the timeless craft of leather bag making.

The beginning of Evelyn’s Bags Boutique
Back in San Francisco, I opened a new chapter. In a cozy little studio behind my home, I began designing and crafting bags – each piece handmade, every detail intentional.
At 32, with limited resources but an endless drive, I opened Evelyn’s Bags Boutique, my very first brick-and-mortar store. Balancing business, creativity, and motherhood (with my little son Kai in tow) was challenging but deeply rewarding.
